I distinctly remember one specific evening when I was sitting by myself in the kitchen with my head in my hands and holding back tears, thinking:
“I cannot live like this anymore.”
I felt depressed, exhausted and completely drained. I was so tired that I could barely make it through my days. My clothes took me hours to fold and put away, and if my husband asked me to go on a short trip or grocery shopping, it took immense effort to get off the couch. The laundry became my best enemy. I knew something had to change soon, or I would have a nervous breakdown.
With time and perspective, I realized that it was the combination of my work environment, dangerously high-stress levels, and poor exercise and sleep habits that led to my burnout and depression.
In my endless search for personal growth, I have learned about many facets of physical and mental health from books, blogs, podcasts, and interviews with nutritionists, neuroscientists, coaches, sophrologists, and experts in productivity and wellness fields.
I had spent nearly a decade eagerly trying to manage my mind and stay in shape despite my impossible schedule and family obligations. Still, the game-changer was when I discovered that taking care of my body and mind is the key to better health.
Once I discovered sophrology, I started to transform my mindset completely. I’ve learned that when I give myself the gift of a relaxed mind and body, I gain access to so much more power than when I allow my body to be uncared for and my mind to be in default mode.
